Pages Remixes Nicolaas's song 'No Stranger Thing'

Following up on his Clash Magazine release of the original ‘No Stranger Thing’ featuring Lucy Mason on 1 March, NICOLAAS has handed the track over to Pages for a funky new remix of the track. Released on 22 March, the new disco dance beat is fit to get you on your feet.

With a faster tempo, the track still holds in reverence NICOLAAS’ original funk flow, though Pages’ own flavour doesn’t fall behind the track, in fact, their reimagining packs quite a punch, perfect for the dance floor. While not much is known about Pages, their previous work remixing Dwilly’s ‘ADD’ as well as Pat Lok’s ‘Hold on, Let Go’ and ‘My Own Throne’ on Kitsune, stands as a testament to the producer’s skills.

This is brand new territory for NICOLAAS, as the work he’s probably best known for would be hip-hop act Muneshine. A project he has since retired from in pursuit of synth-wave funk and the possibilities that come with starting fresh with a whole new approach to production. And with tens of thousands of plays within the first week for his first single ‘No Stranger Things’, I cannot say the man made a bad move at all.

Listen to 'No Stranger Thing' here.

Music producer Warden Releases the Beast with New Song ‘Together Forever’

“Your former lover returns to seek revenge for a past you want to forget. She will never let you forget. You will be stuck with her together, forever.” as described by LA based producer, Warden himself in the synopsis for his new track ‘Together Forever’, released through the Pinnacle Collective on 26 February.

Built to get your heart pounding with adrenaline, the track is thick with percussion that almost threatens to punch a hole right through your chest. It’s intense to say the least. All the while, the taunting voice of this vixen of a women reminds you that really, there’s nowhere to run. Reminds me of the legend of Lilith if you ask me and maybe fitting so as the track in question ‘Together Forever’ is demonic in nature, in the best possible way of course.

Haywyre Shows His True ‘Form’ with his Second Installment of the Panorama Series

Following the release of part one to the Panorama series late last year, Indiana local Martin Vogt, AKA Haywyre has seen fit to, only three months later, release part two, entitled Form. The release exactly the kind of funky groove you would expect from the dynamic producer.

While some would argue that the use of a single instrument runs the risk of getting stale and redundant, I say, “My friend you clearly haven’t heard of any musician in your life in the history of music, have you?” And the legends I’m referring to didn’t even have electronic melodies and elements to back their music up either. Haywyre is a beast on the keyboard and showcases it perfectly with this new release. My only critique is the heavy use of the ‘T-Pain mic’ for vocals. Other than that, the entire 14 minutes is about the grooviest thing you’ll find around these days.

Have a listen to Form here.
