Avant-Garde composer Vincenzo Ramaglia releases new La parole album

The avant-garde composer’s latest untamed art composition La parole has been unleashed to the public for their listening pleasure. The album features the haunting vocals of talented Laura Le Prunenec and beautifully enigmatic sound you would expect from Ramaglia’s work. The album was released on 14 February via PEM Records.

Ramaglia cites Autechre, Björk, Arvo Pärt, and Radiohead as major inspirations for his experimental compositions. La parole was mixed and mastered by two of Italy’s renowned, Elefante Bianco for the mixing and Reference Studio for the master. Before his big break in the electronic music scene, Ramaglia won the Tournoi International de Musique for his orchestral talent and work.  His soundtrack was featured with John Turturro for the illustrious and prized film Ore 2: calma piatta.

It offers an alternation of hypnotic atmospheres and broken rhythms, somewhere between composition and improvisation, with Laure Le Prunenec’s voice that has long gone straight to everyone's heart, around the world, with its thousand shades: from the whisper to the scream, from the 'growl' of metal ancestry to the lyric and from the bass to the falsetto and to the highest range. The style of the album is at the crossroads between IDM electronic avant-garde (in the mood of Warp and Raster-Noton artists), 'real time breakcore' (with an analog electronic setup strictly without a computer) and experimental pop. In short: a mixture that is not easy to find.”

Singer/songwriter Honeyfreckle releases new song ‘love me not’

The new Swedish pop sensation Honeyfreckle releases her intoxicating debut single “love me not” on the 15th of November. To quote some of the very objective people that have heard it so far: “It’s impossible to get it out of your head”.

The singer and songwriter Honeyfreckle writes music that makes you want to put glitter on your cheeks and dance like nobody's watching. Heartfelt lyrics and electronic elements are melted together to create a personal expression. The collaboration with the producer Hampus gives the music a colorful vibe.

- I started to think about the “he loves me, he loves me not” imagery. There is something interesting about imagining love being a rigged game. It can lure you into false security, when in reality, it is really easy to mess with the outcome. The song “love me not” is about losing someone you thought loved you, but was actually never yours to begin with, says the songwriter.

The debut is paired with captivating visuals, created in collaboration with talented photographer/videographer Simon Roth Kalla and creative assistant/stylist Rebecka Wallentin.

Electronic French music producer Uppermost releases latest song

It’s release day for Uppermost as he shares his latest track, ‘Inner Peace’ via Uppwind Records. The track was premiered yesterday via Dancing Astronaut who described it as, “a dramatic creation, composed of orchestral elements and dark, brooding beats melted together”. You can read the full premier here.

The electronic French producer’s style can vary as in ‘Inner Peace’ we see him lean heavily towards the orchestral side of electronic music, creating a space for introspection that can only come from inner peace. However, his previous album, Given By Nature is much more beat driven, with classic styles of musicians like Lemaitre coming through. You can compare the two above and below.

“For a long time I thought that the most interesting moments in life are those where big changes happen, so I was always looking for them instead of focusing on the present moment. Over the years, music has helped me understand that happiness lives in the process. I made Inner Peace as a tribute to this silent, underlying, crucial slow walk that shapes everything else.” - Uppermost shares the concept that drove the creation of the track.

Despite the soothing tones of ‘Inner Peace’, there is a complexity to the track that draws the listener in, inviting them back for multiple listens as they disect each aspect. There is a small element of drama included, as always when seaching for ones own inner peace.

You can read our previous feature on Uppermost when he released, ‘23rd Street’ here.

Diplo drops music video for Thomas Wesley song 'Haertless'

Notorious EDM superstar Diplo has his hand in just about everything these days. His latest foray into a country-themed sound saw him team up with vocalist Morgan Wallen for a track called "Heartless" under his alias Thomas Wesley. Now, "Heartless" has a music video to accompany it.

The video features Diplo and Wallen at a county fair, riding rides and watching fireworks. It's quite a feelgood video to accompany a track lamenting a breakup with a significant other. After Diplo and Wallen are finished playing shooting games and having their caricatures drawn, we see scenes of a brief EDM show with Diplo on the decks, making everything feel just a little more familiar.

"Heartless" feels a bit more like a pop ballad with country themes than an actual country song, with Diplo's hip-hop-inspired production sitting nicely beneath Wallen's heartbroken lyrics. The track itself is already racking up streams and is quite popular among Diplo's diverse fan base and beyond.

Diplo is always working on something new, and this latest venture into more country-oriented sound under the Thomas Wesley alias will undoubtedly be a successful side project for him. It's evident that he's always looking to push the envelope and discover new sounds, and "Heartless" does just that.
