DJ Mason releases cosmic disco song ‘Nightwalker’

Dutch DJ and producer Mason has dropped his new single ‘Nightwalker’ via SKINT / BMG.

Harnessing a cosmic disco vibe, ‘Nightwalker’ takes the Skatt Brothers’ 1980 dancefloor anthem ‘Walk The Night’, giving the track a fresh reimagining while losing none of the raw energy that makes the original so special.

A classic track from the disco era, ‘Walk The Night’ clocked in at #9 in the US Dance charts and topped various national charts on its release. More recently it featured as part of the official soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto IV.

Mason has continually garnered global acclaim for his ability to merge elements of dance, urban music and pop. Having worked with the likes of Stefflon Don, Roisin Murphy, Alex Clare, Sway and Camelphat cohort Jem Cooke, Mason has established himself as a link from the underground to the mainstream without ever losing his dancefloor sensibilities.
‘Nightwalker’ is Mason’s sophomore release for Skint Records. The first, ‘Dance, Shake, Move’ has featured in huge ad campaigns across Europe used by the like of Stella McCartney and Vodafone.

A busy start to 2020 has seen him release for Toolroom Records, remix Metronomy and Girl Ray and collaborate on an EP with DJ Glen titled ‘Mind Goes Off’. He has just finished his third artist album set for release later ths year also on Toolroom.
An exciting rework of a legendary disco-era track, ‘Nightwalker’ is a single that’s destined to rock post-lockdown dancefloors.

DJ MOTI remixes iconic Salt-N-Pepa song

Dutch DJ/producer MOTi managed to put a new spin on Salt-N-Pepa’s 80’s classic Push It. Utilizing the classic melody and combining it with grammy nominated singer/songwriter Laura White’s vocals makes this a track to remember.

MOTi: “Laura White is such a great talent, on previous productions we only did hooks, I’m happy we finally did a full song. We wrote the record together with Maegan Cottone and Friso Venema in the legendary Metropolis Studios in London. The Salt-N-Pepa melody was actually added months after the first version was recorded and produced but it was exactly what the track needed. Very happy to work with such talented people and very happy with the final version!”

Laura White: “I am so excited to feat on the new MOTi Single ‘Push It Right’! I loved the original version of ‘Push It’ by Salt-N-Pepa and so this was so cool to have re-written. We all wrote the song together at Metropolis Studios in London, myself ,MOTi, Maegan Cottone and Friso! I loved the day so much with all the gang! I love collabing with MOTi so much and ‘Push It Right’ is my favourite so far!“

MOTi has put himself on the musical map through collaborations with the biggest names in the industry, including Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Major Lazer and many more. Next to numerous dance records, MOTi has become an established name in the pop genre as well, working with multi-platinum artists like Wyclef Jean, Ty Dolla $ign and Wizkid, and remixing Selena Gomez, Marshmello, Macklemore, Galantis, Ava Max and a great number of other artists.

Renowned music producer Marcus James shares ‘Honest’

Image: Hayden Gullins

Renowned music producer Marcus James has released his latest single, ‘Honest (with RYYZN)’  via Physical Presents. To date, Marcus James has performed alongside the likes of Robin Schulz, 3LAU, Lost Frequencies, Zeds Dead to name a few. His next release next month includes a remix of Dylan Matthew’s ‘Saturday Night’.

Marcus James shares , “When I wrote the lyrics to Honest I was a little obsessed with capturing the image of the space in between two people as they drift apart from one another. When that space begins to hollow out it feels as if there’s a silent conversation happening, made of everything not being said out loud. There are some autobiographical lines, especially the portrayal of a night spent watching the snowfall and hearing nothing but the sounds of trains and cars. If you listen closely throughout the song you’ll hear some sounds from the train station in the distance that I recorded on my iPhone by sticking my arm out the apartment window.”

‘Honest’  will make you feel emotional highs and lows, and it’s somewhat melancholic lyrical contact that is distracted with its upbeat dancefloor tempo.

EDM producer Mike Mago shares song ‘Recognise’

A danceable beat propels the song forward through swells of bass and glitchy keys. Reaching a crossroads between deep house bliss, progressive scope, and unassuming pop power, the vocals by Tim Powell culminate on the echoes of a catchy confession, “Oh darling I don’t recognise me” before a muscular and magnetic drop.

“Recognise” arrives on the heels of Mago’s latest single “On Repeat” with Kelli-Leigh. Mago graced the cover of Spotify’s “New Dance Revolution'' playlist and claimed a coveted spot on UK’s “New Music Friday” as well as “You Can Do It,” “Ibiza 2020 Deep House, mix, Ocean Beach, Nassau Beach…”  and more playlists. The rising star recently joined NGHTMRE, SOFI TUKKER, Matoma and more as part of the Blockeley Music  Festival—a two-day virtual festival in Minecraft celebrating the recent graduates of UC Berkeley.
